I don't like this either and here's why: Yes very few pitchers go into the 8th every start (except for Halladay who goes a damn CG every time practically), but also it is very rare for hitters to always swing at the first or second pitch. There are far more 2-2+ counts in the MLB than there ever are here because so many people swing early in the counts. And because of this, pitch counts are always down. Agree
