I've made this as simple as possible so that you can easily take this document and transfer it into your notepad & use from there. If you want to take this though, and re-design it to structure it nicely on word/excel to better suit you and your team, than you should do it, because you should be tracking these things, and if you can make something that works better you should do it, but this is the most basic simplest way to track player resting. Just copy and paste it in your notepad or wordpad and your good to go.
PLAYER RESTING FORM
~~~~~ PITCHERS WHO PITCHED 2 OR MORE INNINGS ~~~~~ (ex: game 1 - downs - 3 innings = out for 2 games
~~~~~ STARTING LINEUP RESTING ~~~~~ (ex: C - Zaun - 6, 15, 23, 32 <------------ list the game #'s he rested here)
C - 1B - 2B - SS - 3B - OF - OF - OF - DH -
xtra - xtra - xtra - xtra - xtra -
(you only need to list the extra's you think might possibly end up playing 10 games in a row at some point)
~~~~~ Game by Game ~~~~~ (ex: game 1 - zaun, overbay, mcdonald)
game 1 -
game 2 -
game 3 -
game 4 -
game 5 -
game 6 -
game 7 -
You dont need to use the game by game tracker, but it helps if you want to preschedule who'll sit which games, that way you know going into that game who'll be resting
I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my resting players. Color coordinated
