I think it would be stupid to do away with the FA draft... FA picks were traded as well. If we're going to do another season, we need to do it right. It wouldn't be fair for me to make a trade for a first round FA pick and then we don't do FA...

I say no to FA too...hell, the draft is going to be hard enough with about 8 open teams. I mean really the only way to run this years season is to have the draft done on the game itself (sucks for trades) and just leave open teams.
Problems you'll run into, you'll have guys who are out..Take the bills for instance, since he is leaving the league, are we not letting him have first teir for picking teams next year? If we do, do we make other exceptions?

I think anyone that leaves after season 6 should have same rights as people that play season 7. At this point Im considering this a bonus season, last shot to get a title or just enjoy the final moments of madden 10. As long as owners leave before season 7 starts their should be no penalties in regards to team assignments in Madden 11 IMO.
With the open teams are we gonna allow owners to play with two teams. I really dont see a problem with it and IM sure a few owners would want to do it. If we ran into a situation where the same owner made it to the superbowl with both their teams we could allow the best regular season owner to represent the other team. I think its a good idea and will keep the competition good for remaining season.
As for the unowned teams during the draft why dont we just swap players after the game has completed the draft. Draft orders will be wrong and in this final season and I dont see at as a big deal. Im going to lose a few spots depending on how the 49ers do in my place, which doesnt bother me one bit. I know some may be upset with this but literally we can roll into the draft and the new season very quickly as opposed to taking a whole weekend to work out all the details.
Im pretty sure the draft engine on the game allows you to pre-rank your players if you can not attend the draft, so that atleast you can rank the players you want. For the teams with multiple draft picks Im sure we can facilitate that stuff after the draft has taken place, we just need to get together on all the swapped picks.
I think we should start a thread with every owner needing to respond in or out for season 7 and if they would be willing to use multiple teams ( if we decide this is ok) while the playoffs are unfolding. One feature we can use during the draft is the pause feature which will allow people to sign in and out of teams to allow them the correct pick if they have multiple picks or traded picks for that matter.

Yeah, that seems like the best way to do it, the CPU will draft for the open teams, thats what I would do, if you control two teams, the CPU drafts for the open one and you play with it, if that makese sense.
No trades at all, not even during this offseason I saw, since it's a bonus and all.
The draft can be paused too in game.

I am good for another season. I do think we need to set guidlines for trades, (I don't think we should have any), people quiting the league during the season for whatever reason, and the draft.

I do think we need to set guidlines for trades, (I don't think we should have any), people quiting the league during the season for whatever reason, and the draft. why would we not have trades? as long as 1 person can approve/decline them theres no reason to get rid of them. the drafts is the biggest issue here, some have made trades of picks, and they will want their picks they got in the trade, I'm not sure what we can do to fix that
