This is the retirement speech of Ray Lewis after he talked to his family, coaches, players, friends, and owner. He wanted me to bring this to the attention of everyone in the VNFL. So here it is:
“Everyone, I wanted you all to come down here because I have some news for you. My goal in this league was to be the best player I could be and to win a championship for Coach Harbaugh and Owner Shamblin. I failed to do that even though we had a very good chance this year. I helped the defense allow the least amount of points in the league, as well as, being in the top half of rushing and receiving yards allowed. When I started looking over my career, I realized that I have achieved everything that I wanted to. I was a superbowl champion, a perennial probowler, and lead one of the toughest defenses throughout my career. Once I realized all of that, I knew the decision that had to be made. I am deciding to hang up my cleats and become an ESPN personality. Don’t worry, you will still hear from me time to time. I will also be helping out the Ravens and making sure the defense stays tough and dangerous. I want to thank everyone around me for being so supportive throughtout my career. I will miss you all, as well as, playing with the guys on the defensive side.”
Wow, what a great statement from All-World Linebacker Ray Lewis. He will truly be missed.
