Here they are!
Red Sox again dominate power rankings!
With the season coming to a close in a little more than a week, the Red Sox are flying high right now as they have clinched homefield throughout the playoffs, and also have put together baseballs best record. They have shown they have acomplete team, both defense, offense, and pitching. Kevin and Josh are leading the way, and they hope to continue their success right into the playoffs.
As the season comes close to an end, here are the awards as the season end nears.
MVP (in no order)
Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox) - .408 Avg, 28 hits, 15 Runs, 12 RBIs, 7 2Bs, 2 HRs
Vladimir Guerrero (Angels) - .386 Avg, 27 hits, 7 RBIs, 6 2Bs, 3 3Bs
Manny Ramirez (Red Sox) - .380 Avg, 27 hits, 18 RBIs, 4 2Bs, 5 HRs
Rick Ankiel (Cardinals) - .351 Avg, 26 hits, 22 RBIs, 5 2Bs, 4 HRs
Raul Ibanez (Mariners)- .316 Avg, 25 hits, 13 Runs, 12 RBIs, 6 HRs, 7 SBs
Ryan Garko (Indians) - .345 Avg, 16 Hits, 9 Runs, 9 RBIs, 3 HRs
CY Young ( in no order)
Adam Wainwright (Cardinals) - 5-0, 38.2 IP, 32 Ks, 1 BB, 1.86 ERA
Josh Beckett (Red Sox) - 3-0, 31.2 IP, 39 Ks, 1 BB, 0.85 ERA
John Maine (Mets) - 3-0 23 IP, 14 Ks, 0 BB, 1.96 ERA
Joba Chamberlain (Yankees) - 3-1, 2 Saves, 27 IP, 46 Ks, 5 BB, 1.33 ERA
Mariano Rivera (Yankees) - 1-0, 6 Saves, 5 IP, 5 Ks, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
As you can see the races for awards will heat up, as many hitters have more at-bats, and pitchers will have more starts.
What to look foward to in the next week and a half......
Cubs and Dodgers, the NL is a weak divsion as is, and right now these two teams have several games left, and those games will determine who will go in St. Louis to take on the 2nd best team in the VMLB. From what I can tell, does it really matter?
Mets, how will they finish the year out, new owner seems to have them playing to their potential, and hopefully will bring a little more balance to the NL, to bad they play in the NORTH.
Mariners and Blue Jays, these two teams are seperated by .5 games. With the Mariners playing the Indians, (who can still win their division) and the Blue Jays who have 2 games left, vs the Red Sox, and the Cubs. If they Jays lose 1 and the Mariners win 2, it's over, and the Blue Jays will be sent packing AGAIN (even after the promise main made).
PLAYOFF RACES are here, so lets get it on!
