The schedule is done and you can play your first series of games, BUT FIRST, there are some things you need to know! All the info on changes for season 2 is here, so read on.
PLAYER RESTING RULE CHANGE - Since its a longer season, this will be changed. You have to rest your starters 3 times over the 24 game period. They can never play more than 10 games in a row. And you must play 25 different players over the period of the season for at least 1 game. Every roster has 25 players, so weather a roster update comes or not, doesn't matter, you must give 25 players starts (or pitching opportunities if they aren't starting pitchers) over the course of the season.
NEW STARTING PITCHING SYSTEM - BY POPULAR DEMAND. There will be a 4 man pitching rotation, you must post your rotation in a new section of our forum (Injuries & Pitching Rotation). You must start your 5th starter however 2 times, once in game 9, and once in game 18. YOU ARE aloud to change your rotation at the end of every series. Your 5th pitcher will be considered a long relief pitcher for all other games of the season, except he is not aloud to pitch in games 7,8,10,11,12;16,17,19,20,21 due to resting rules. Remember, pitching rotation changes will be ok but you cannot move a pitcher up by more than 1 spot at a time (meaning your #5 can only move to the #4 spot at the end of a week, you cant just move him from 5 to 3), the reason for this rule is because of pitcher resting rules. HOWEVER you can drop a pitcher down by a max of 3 spots, so you could drop your #1 to a max spot of 4, or your 2 to 5. YOU WILL NEED TO POST YOUR ROTATION IN THE NEW SECTION OF THE FORUMS. I'll post an example of what to post, follow that example. You can than post a new post in your thread for anytime you make a lineup change, you'd copy your original post, paste it, and make the changes following the can only move 1 position rule and post it in that same thread. Remember you cannot make a rotation change until the end of a weekly 3 game series.
NEW PITCHER WARMUP RULE - The game forces you to warmup a minimum of 1 batter, so we will allow that to be the rule instead of the former 2, if you wish ti put in a cold pitcher after only warming up for 1 batter, that is your choice.
Pitcher & batter substitution rule - You are not aloud to change a pitcher or batter after 1 pitch has been thrown to the batter, you must finnish that at bat before a change. BUT if you are the batter, if the pitcher didn't give you enough time to make the change, you will be allowed to change after 1 pitch, by rule the pitching team must give enough time for a batting change though before throwing a pitch.
REGULAR SEASON - This will now consist of 24 games (double that of last year). You'll play the 2 teams in your division each 6 times [12 total games], the 3 teams in your opposing division 3 times each [9 total games], and 1 interleague series [3 total games] against a random team from the other conference.
BUNTING RULE CHANGE - Instead of just 1 successful bunt OR 1 squeeze bunt, the rule is now changed to 1 successful bunt OR 2 SAC bunts [which are a tracked stat by the game, either moving a player forward, or a squeeze play are recorded as sac bunts].
DIVISIONS - There are now still 2 LEAGUES (as I found out their known as, we call them conferences on leaguedaddy). And 2 divisions in each league. So 4 total divisions.
HOW DIVISIONS WERE DECIDED - I put these divisions together to try and make them each evenly competitive, with not too many top or bad players in the same division. Some have 2 top teams and 1 bad, some have 3 even teams. I put the top team from the AL with 2 unkowns in the same division. In the east I put Toronto & Boston together because they both were good teams around the middle of the pack, and seattle whome didn't play very well down the stretch. In the NL I put ATL, StL, and NY together, 3 teams that made the playoffs last season. I put Arizona, Chicago, and Philli together (Arizona owner is the same owner who WON the very tough AL last season, Philli was the 2nd best NL team, and Chicago].
PLAYOFFS - This year, once again, 4 teams from each league will make the playoffs. The 2 division winners from each conference, and 2 wildcard teams (the 2 teams with the best record that didn't win their division)
PLAYOFF FORMAT - Last year was a very short playoffs because we didn't want them to last long as we wanted to get right into season 2. This year they will be played properly. Division series will be 5 games, League championship series will be 5 games, and World Series will be 7 games.
NEW STATISTICS - [TEAM STAT - Wild Pitches], [TEAM STAT - Home Runs], [PITCHING STAT - Holds], [BATTING STAT - GIDP - Grounded into double play], [TEAM STAT - GIDP - Grounded into double play], [BATTING STAT - SF - Sac Fly], [BATTING STAT - SAC - Sac bunt], stats you won't see that will be tracked because of these addons are Home Runs Allowed, times forced opposing team into double play
LEAGUE HISTORY - I archived all the players stats [its on excel, aim me if you wish to see the document for the time being], and took pictures of all the team stats and leaderboards. We will have a new League History section of this forum to view all these things.
THIS SEASON. New series will open on saturday, but your deadline for each series is Sunday, so once again they'll be that crossover period where you can play 2 series' at the same time on the weekend.
NEW - you'll be aloud to play your next series ahead of time IF both you and your opponent of the next week both have all your games played for the current week done OR if you or your opponent is going to be away for 3 or more days during the week that your series is to be played on.
