With the loss to the Cardinals the Patriots put themself on the edge of fighting for playoff contention. The loss of Randy Moss has proved to be huge as it has essentially lowered their overall rating at every WR position in the depth chart by needing to bump everyone up a spot.
Looking at the top 4 teams currently in the wildcard hunt and their remaining schedules, it looks like 9-7 could potentially give you a shot at the post season. Lots of tough games against teams with winning records, or teams that have made long playoff runs in the past.
Kansas City - Currently 6-2 Key Remaining Games - Broncos, Patriots, Panthers, Steelers, Bucs, Ravens
Pittsburgh - Currently 6-3 Key Remaining Games - Broncos, Chiefs, Titans
Buffalo - Currently 4-4 Key Remaining Games - Seahawks, Jets, Broncos, Rams, Cardinals
New England - Currently 4-4 Key Remaining Games - Rams, Chiefs, Jets, Titans, Seahawks, Niners
So while the Patriots are definitely anything but out of the race, they will monitor their chances closely and if it is determined that the post season is out of the question... expect to see some more starts from Rookie QB Ben Wade.

Good post, at 4-4, and with the scheduled/luck I've had its crazy to think I still even have a shot at the playoffs, but looking at the schedules I dont think the East will send more then 1 team to the playoffs this year, I basically can only lose 1 more game as the steelers hold wildcard tie over me

Yeah, the Steelers look to have the easiest road... hopefully the Chiefs drop a few in there and make things interesting down the stretch.
My season could really be on the ropes with the opponents I have in weeks 10,11,12... so Wade could be pulling 5 starts to end the season if things go poorly, haha.

Looking into the Crystal Ball, if I can get my act together and win some games, we COULD see the return of the Kansas City Patriots, haha.

I'm likely gonna finish 10-6 or 9-7 and miss out on tiebreaker once again. That loss to jax will end up costing me playoffs. Games vs patriots and steelers are most pivitol for me with tiebreaker on the line. 2 teams I am yet to beat in the vnfl so my work is more than cut out for me after the easy start to the season
