VMLB RULES
THESE RULES ARE IN PLACE TO MAKE THE GAME AS REALISTIC & SIM AS POSSIBLE. YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE RULES AT ALL TIMES
if you do not agree with a rule, or have a better idea on how a rule should work, want a change, or want a new rule in place you must post your thoughts in the general board & we'll have a vote if a commish or several people feel it is a valid point.
ANY PROBLEMS WITH FELLOW OWNERS MUST GO THROUGH A COMMISH
If you have any issues with your fellow owners must go through a commissioner of the league. They will oversee all problems and make sure they are sorted out, or kept track of in a fair fashion. If something is of large disagreement between 2 people, it is the commish's choice to make the final decision or have it voted upon by all league members.
If you have an issue the commissioners contact information is listed in the owners list, you can also private message them on the forum
RESPECT RULE
This league is all about respect, and this is in ALL aspects of our leagues, in game, in chat, in forums, on AIM, I want respect shown to all fellow owners of this league at all times. Examples of disrespect would be:
- having more than a 10 run lead against an opponent in the VMLB is considered disrespectful. If you even come close to 10 you should be putting in most of your backups and giving them playing time. Running up the score in Virtual leagues is a big sign of disrespect for your opponent and will not be takin lightly by the leagues commissioners.
- name calling
- making public accusations, instead of taking proper measurements, and speaking with a commish, and having it dealt through a commish & the opposing player
- Do not block people on aim, or storm off in a tantrum. This is immature, and disrespectful. If you are bothered by someone, ignore them, or just respectfully say I don't want to speak to you right now. And the person receiving this statement should be respectful and listen to what the person asked them to do, leave them alone.
- Do not speak in caps, or try to "shout" over someone in chat. Let peoples opinion be heard, you will always get your turn in this league to say your piece
- pausing mid game play is completely disrespectful, and can also effect the play. Never pause mid play.
- IF YOU CAN THINK OF MORE RESPECT ISSUES, PLEASE POST THEM

Bunting
Please be realistic here and use them sparinlgy for actual situations you see them occur in the MLB. If your opponent feels your abusing the bunt than you probably are, be realistic & don't be cheap just cause your having success doesn't mean you should keep doing it over and over.
Disconnected / frozen game
If a game is disconnected or frozen the 2 owners are to meet up on AIM & go over stats that had occured in their game before the disconnect. They will than start the game again & try to replicate everything that had happened. They must replicate the score, and play to the point of which the disconnect happened, than continue on in the game from the point they were at. The game needs to be played out & stats need to be recorded. If disconnected in 8th or 9th in a game where somebody had a commanding lead than you should speak on AIM and just try and make up all the stats to replicate what had happened in your game.
Mixing up pitches
We are a sim league, and just like real life baseball we expect you to mix up your pitches, if your using a 5 pitch pitcher you should be mixing up at least 3 of those pitches constantly. Sure if somethings working for you, GREAT, but you still gotta throw in something different now and than. Be realistic, and don't do things you wouldn't see in real life.
No intentional walks
Because of the intentional walks glitch that freezes the game you are not allowed to choose the intentional walk option. You can still intentionally walk by throwing 4 fastballs wide for 4 straight balls.
Pitcher & Batter Substitution Rule
You are not aloud to change a pitcher or batter after 1 pitch has been thrown to the batter, you must finnish that at bat before a change. BUT if you are the batter, if the pitcher didn't give you enough time to make the change, you will be allowed to change after 1 pitch, by rule the pitching team must give enough time for a batting change though before throwing a pitch.
Sim Play
Virtual leagues are sim league. We want sim play at all times, weather its in the rules or not, if your doing something unsim its not allowed. Sim means to play the game as if it were real life, not doing anything cheap or unrealistic that you wouldn't see in the real life game of baseball.
Wait between pitches
- As a pitcher you must wait at least 2 seconds between pitches (this means do not throw the ball for at least 2 seconds). This will allow a chance for the batter to check where you've thrown your pitches, to pause the game to make a change, or to give a lead to a base runner.
- You must allow your opponent to take a lead. This means, yes, you have to let him walk all the way out, and have enough time to take up to a 2 step lead before you begin throwing your pitch. If you've been trying to time a persons step with pickoff attempts you need to allot the base runner even more extra time to be able to make adjustments on when to take a lead.
