One of the most intense Rivalries in all of Professional football, the Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants....
Cowboys 34 Giants 14
Cowboys came into this game focused. They were ready for the Giants and they were determined to play mistake free ball tonight.
The Boys established the run early and often, as the Giants D seemed confused. Barber pounded the line on the opening drive which ended with a FG by Beuhler.
The Giants would take the ensuing kickoff and drive the length of the field capping off the drive with a 3 yard plunge by Jacobs.
The Cowboys would answer as they drove the field on their next possession with some crisp passing by Romo and some great runnning by Barber. Barber scored on a 32 yd gallop breaking 3 or 4 tackles along the way for his first of 2 TD's on the night. The score put the Cowboys up by 3 with 1:50 left till half.
The Giants would go 3 and out on their next possession. The boys get the ball with a little over 1:00 min remaining. Everyone thought they would simply run the clock out, however, Tony Romo had other ideas...
It only took 3 plays for Romo to lead the Cowboys down the field with the big blow coming on a 55 yard bomb to Sam Hurd which gave Dallas a 10 point halftime lead...
Like many games, the 3rd quarter was a quarter in which obvious adjustments were made for both teams... The 3rd was pretty much a stailmate until late in the quarter when Barber finally scored a 1 yard td with about 2 minutes to go...
On the ensuing possession BIG Brandon Jacobs rumbled for an 80 yard touchdown run on the very first snap. How he wasn't caught from behind no body will ever know...
The Cowboys D sealed the deal later in the 4t quarter as Mike Mickens intercepted his first of the year and returned it to the house for his first VNFL TD.
