VNFL Mid-Season Awards - Season 2
VNFL MVP – HB, DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers. Even with the addition of McNabb, this is still a running team and DeAngelo Williams is the reason they are off to such a good first half of the season.
AFC – HB, Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans (Yes, even with the missed games)
NFC – HB, DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
VNFL Offensive Player of the Year - QB, Tom Brady, New England Patriots. Probably would have been mid-season MVP if his team had a better record. A slow start in the standings was anything but a slow start in the stat book for Mr. Brady. Over 300 yards per game, with 19 TDs and just 3 INTs
AFC – QB, Tom Brady, New England Patriots
NFC – HB, DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
VNFL Defensive Player of the Year – SS, Brian Dawkins, Denver Broncos. This could have gone to a few different Broncos players, but Dawkins gets the nod with his league leading 7 INTs.
AFC – SS, Brian Dawkins, Denver Broncos.
NFC – DE, Lamar Woodley, Seattle Seahawks.
VNFL Offensive Rookie of the Year – HB, LeRon James, New England Patriots. Well over 1000 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns. Frequent big plays in both the running and passing game.
AFC – HB, LeRon James, New England Patriots
NFC - QB, Kelly James, Washington Redskins
VNFL Defensive Rookie of the Year – OLB, Torian Watts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a debate which impact OLB taken early in the draft would have a bigger impact, Watts is making his case early on by putting up some monster defensive numbers.
AFC – FS, Prince Justin, Kansas City Chiefs
NFC – OLB, Torian Watts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
VNFL Coach of the Year – PRBallin, Arizona Cardinals. From 9-7 last season to a NFC leading (tied) 7-1 start… things are looking good for the Cardinals.
AFC - Boerny, New York Jets
NFC – PRBallin, Arizona Cardinals
VNFL User Control Player of the Year – DE, Lamar Woodley, Seattle Seahawks. Dominating with the outside pass rush, Woodley has taken down opposing QB’s 9 times so far.
AFC – DE, Elvis Dumerville, Denver Broncos
NFC – DE, Lamar Woodley, Seattle Seahawks
I'll update with the defensive players of the year when I get on the PS3, its impossible to look through all the defensive stats on the PC.
