Rams 2009 1st Round Draft pick, Quarterback Dane Morrow from Penn State was officially handed the starting job a few weeks back...
Rams head coach CeeGee was forced to play Morrow in a week 7 loss to New Orleans due to an injury to, then starter, Marc Bulger...
An unproven rookie replacing a Pro Bowl QB is something St Louis fans are pretty familiar with... 1999 anyone???
Morrow apparently impressed the coach enough to earn the start the following week vs an upstart Kansas City Team... Even though the Rams got beat Handily by the Chiefs 31-14, it was of no fault to Morrow as he went 21-30, for 291yds and 2 TDs...
Coach declared after that Chiefs game that Morrow would be given the chance to lead this team for the rest of the season.
2009 VNFL NFC Pro Bowl QB Marc Bulger is handling his demotion with dignity and class...
"like i said before, i understand this kid is the future... It was clear to me the day they drafted him that he would eventually replace me as the guy"
"he has all the tools, strong arm, accurate, intelligent, he reminds me of a young Dan Marino... I know i shouldn't throw names out like that, but thats just my opinion"
"I wish Dane all the luck in the world, and i will continue to help him through the process of leading a team... He knows he can always come to me with questions and problems he has..."
In his 2 1/2 games this season, Morrow has looked pretty solid... His numbers are
48-79, 61%, 793yds, 6td 3int
Not too bad for a Rookie QB... Obviously he still needs to learn a thing or two, but the future looks bright for this one...
