The leagues rules have been made, go to virtualleagues.proboards85.com/index.cgi?board=vmlbrules to read them! There is rules, season rules, and game settings that all must be followed throughout the season. DO NOT PLAY A GAME UNTIL YOU'VE READ & UNDERSTAND ALL OF THESE. If you do something wrong, you'll be punnished as if you had read these rules. It is your responsibility to read them, know them, and follow them! Games 1, 2, and 3 have opened up on leaguedaddy. BEFORE YOU PLAY YOU MUST READ ALL OF THE RULES. Everyone has 12 games (6 home and 6 away). Each week you'll be playing 1 series vs 1 team. 4 teams from each division have to play crossover games. 4 teams from each division will make the playoffs. The playoffs will be 3 game series' & a 5 game world series! Houston is in the AL, so they have to play all their games as away when their playing their games vs AL teams (because if their home the DH wouldn't be in the game, which we want the DH in the AL) So even though houston will be away for all those games, the person whos actually suppose to be away should choose houston's stadium when their suppose to be home. And obviously the home team gets final choice on starting pitcher still applies, weather houston is at home in the game or not.

I don't get your pitching rotation. why not have it preset like real life? Like game one ususaly is 1st pitcher in rotation, then go from there? Its easier and less hassle. You dont see a #1 going against a #4...VERY rarely do you see that. Just wondering whats up.

Also, just my opinion. I think that a reliever set up man should be able to throw 2 innings without having to sit out. Three innings should result in a 1-game sit out and anything more should be 2-days. Just my opinion.

I agree with the rules, but do second liq on the starting pitchers.
It would be much easier to keep straight who is supposed to pitch is we just go 1-4 in order of game #.
So your ace pitches games #1,5,9, etc. Second pitcher #2,6,10, etc.
In the longer season a 5 man rotation.
This would give the league the option to open more games up at a time and have the schedule be more flexible as well since the starters are pre-determiined.

Yeah, its just easier work on you guys and no fighting with people about pitchers and so forth, I think there is a spot on LD also for you to enter what pitchers in what weeks, so its easy. I agree a little bit about the relievers, but do see why you would sit them out of they pitch 2 innings, most mid relievers that are good will only pitch 1 inning, when they do pitch more, usualy they pitch 2 and sit out a game or 2.

k guys I've thought about everyones point of view, but I want to stick with this system. I want every single player on every team to play even in our short system, that means the #5 pitcher has to start just once on the year.
So if you do the math, after you've played 4 games you'll only have 2 options, your #1 or #5. I think its obvious who you go with depending on who your opponent is. I will allow one change before the game starts (so if away team picks a pitcher, than home team picks their pitcher, away team can decide wow he wants my #5 to be vs his #1, i'm putting in my #1, than of course the home team has the chance to change last. So really you have to chances to make sure you have a fair matchup in the game). This still forces a 4 man rotation, but forces you to mix in your 5th man once in a blue moon just like real life.
Guys if you look at it your not going to have unfair match ups and you'll be given the chance to change your pitching rotation during the season if you decide to. The system that is in place does not create unfair matchups unless you create them for yourself, it also gives you the opportunity to change up your rotation if you like 1 pitcher better than another. If unfair matchups occur it'll be your own fault, but the worse matchups you should see during our season is 1vs3 or 3vs5.
We're going to stick with the system and try it out, I believe its going to work out great and its not going to have to always be #1 vs #1 or 2 vs 2 which you don't see all the time, you'll get a mix of 1vs2 or 2vs3 now and than, and you'll get a chance to change your rotation which any MLB club can do throughout the season
franchise, I thought about that for relief pitchers and decided against it because its such a short season I don't want to see guys putting in the same reliever for 2 innings every game. You could have good starting pitching, 1 great reliever and a closer, than nobody would stand a chance as you could use that every game. Next season I think Long Releif Pitchers will be used in the criteria you named though, as it'll be a longer season we can afford to do that

Bunting You are only allowed to have 1 successful bunt for a base hit OR 1 sacrifice bunt per game. (A sacrifice bunt is when a person has a guy on 3rd base with 1 or none out and he bunts to score the run) With a runner on 3rd, that would be a suicide squeeze play. A sacrifice is when you want to move a runner over.
