batters do guess and they dont just guess on certain counts. a lot of hitters guess when it's 0-0 because not everyone takes the first pitch, if they sit fastball first pitch they can jump all over it. the game is all about trying to outsmart your opponent. the biggest battle of the game is a head game between the pitcher/catcher and batter.
i know from experience as well, im a pitcher in college. either way guess pitch on or off is fine for me, but just letting you guys know hitters don't guess on only 2-0 and 3-1 counts. shit, 0-2 and 1-2 counts they gotta do more thinking because now a days they bust inside rather then go with the breaking ball every time.

Yeah uneek, but in real life when you sit fast ball before the pitch a big red dot doesnt' blink saying your right or saying your wrong if it doesnt. that game gives away the hint that you ARENT getting a fast ball, giving you a better chance to hit the ball if you dont guess at all. With crappy hitters, its harder to get a hit, but with a good hitter, its nearly impossible to get them out. Just not life like. I know hitters sit on pitches, I did the same when I played, but i didn't have a icon telling me if I was right or wrong, lol.

real life your at the plate and can pick up on the pitch that you've guessed allot easier than you can in this game too, the only way to give that effect of actually picking up that its the pitch you guessed for sure is by having the guess pitch on.

haha, its not like that main, in real life if i guess a 90+ fastball on ANY pitch, and i get a 80- breaking ball, i am not putting it into play at all. lol. in the game, you can not only put it in play, but get on! haha. thats the big difference.

but on the otherside, when your thrown a fastball on this game and you didn't guess it its impossible to hit, but in real life you can tell its coming allot faster and react

i have played about 20 games online now and i have seen a lot of people use guess pitch at every one of my pitches and they always guess fast ball. At first i couldn't understand why all these people keep guessing fastball every single time i pitch even when i stopped throwing fastballs for several innings cause they just kept guessing them.
I have spoken to 2 of these guys afterwards and they told me that first there are no negative consequences to guessing wrong and it's probably a glitch in the game so therefore they keep guessing fastball because it's the hardest pitch to hit. As soon as a fastball is thrown they know to swing earlier and if you deck a fastball when you know it's coming it's got a high chance of going out of the park.
Having said that having guess pitch on with no consequences and using the above example means that in my opinion it's cheesing or taking advantage of a glitch in the game. I can tell you right now that based on that I am going to do the same and just predict fastball every pitch. Why not right if guessing wrong means no punishment to me.

You don't have to worry about it. The vote is in and Guess Pitch will be OFF.
