- 3 games per week - 3 game series'. - simple 12 game season to start (4 weeks + 1 or 2 for playoffs) {gives us opportunity to try settings and adjust quickly for season 2 which would be longer and more teams} - choose your pitching rotation and set a certain amount of time for minimum rest period for the pitchers. (example pitchers must rest at least 3 games before they can start again?) - make a rest period based on certain criteria we have to figure out for bullpen pitchers - set a max amount of total games played for players over course of season. so backups get games in. no starters if any play all games.

I came up with what I think is a really cool idea. INJURIES.
I do a random draw for injuries. here is how it work for an 8 team league
this is like a draft or a lottery, just like real life, injuries are random and you can't predict whats going to happen
I go in alphabetical order for teams
So first is Anaheim Angels.
First thing I choose out of Hat is WHEN INJURY HAPPENS (so I will have 8 different game #'s over the course of the season). I draw it, and that is the game that the injury occurs on (meaning starting on the NEXT game your player won't be able to play.
second thing I choose out of a hat is a players name (all the players from your roster are put in a hat, the 5 players on your team that have the lowest injury rating are put in twice). So I draw a name, and that is the player who will get hurt.
third thing I choose out of hat is length of time for injury (I have 8 different lengths of time for injuries in the draw so you could luck out and get 1 game or maybe at worste you could miss half the season (whatever amount of games that'd be)
ALSO, if an injury occurs in a game it has to be recorded by somebody. If its a player they are automatically out for 5 games. If its a pitcher they must miss 2 starts through the rotation.
just ideas, let me know what you guys think

Me personally, it would be much easier to deal with an injury that actually happened in game than from the drawing out of a hat.
I like the idea of reporting injuries after games and keeping track of it that way.

thing is they never happen. 14 games, only 1 injury to a pitcher

I Agree with Aliviston. I would like just reporting them after the game, and having ssomeone in here be in charge of assigning injury lengths for the severity of the injury. Main, when you did those games and series, did you do that online in the league thing? It only gives you certain options for games you can play and everything. So just curious about that.

hmmm. no i didn't even think about checking things with the league creation stuff. so i'll have to look at that still
as for the injuries, the 1 INJURY that I had online was to a pitcher, and it didn't say why he was hurt, just that he was being takin out of the game. theres no way to tell the length of the injury or why the injury even occurred. I'm really suprised you 2 don't like my injury idea, but if we don't do it than we're pretty much not going to have injuries at all, which I'm fine with also, I just thought my idea was really cool and would be allot of fun

id like to have some kind of injuries if not season 1 then season two for sure since its gonna be a longer season and the hat draw is kinda cool its random like u never know when ur ace is gonna break his arm throwing in a season

suggestion for the bunting rule. Maybe make it to only one bunt for a base hit a game. Reason being is if its a 1-1 game two aces on the mound, and you want to manufacture runs, no reason we shoulnd't allow a straight bunt, meaning the batter is turned before the pitch.

I don't see why we would limit bunts. They are not that effective to begin with. Plus you get into pissing contests as to whether or not it was a sacrifice or a bunt for a base hit. It would just create more problems than it's worth.
Some rules are necessary, but at some point we just have to play 9 innings of baseball and the best team wins. If there are too many rules the game becomes "scripted".

Well, the only real bunt rule I have ever seen is the suicide squeeze. Most leagues have once a game.
