In keep digging we dig deeper into the stats to show you who really is dominating the leagues stats with categories you can't see just by looking at the big #'s in the league leaders screen.
Lets start off with QB Rating & Pass %
1. (Was) Sage Rosenfels - 134.2 / 72.2%
2. (SF) Nate Davis - 120.3 / 73.6%
3. (Ind) Peyton Manning - 110.6 / 83.3%
4. (Det) Matt Stafford - 107.6 / 77.5%
5. (StL) Marc Bulger - 107.6 / 65.2%
6. (KC) Matt Cassel - 104.2 / 66%
7. (Den) Kyle Orton - 101.4 / 65%
8. (Chi) Jay Cutler - 101.3 / 67.1%
9. (Min) Brett Favre - 98.3 / 64.7%
10. (NYG) Eli Manning - 98.2 / 67.9%
~the others~
(NE) Tom Brady - 93.4 / 72.1 %
(OAK) Jamarcus Russel - 92.4 / 56.5%
(NO) Drew Brees - 90.2 / 55.1%
NOTES: The interesting story lines (and there are many), Sage Rosenfels is the best passer in the league after being traded from Minnesota because of Favres re-emergence, while favre is barely cracking the top 10 with the 9th best QB rating. Meanwhile, the Orton & Cutler deal seams to be panning out in Denver after all the criticism they have shown that they really didn't need Jay as Kyle Orton is leading the team to a 3-0 record & is statistically better than Cutler thus far this season. Other suprises are Nate Davis & Matt Stafford being top 5 passers in the league, while Drew Brees, considered by many to be the leagues most accurate passer doesn't even make the top 10 list
We already know who has the most rushing yards in the VNFL, but who is getting the most out of their carries with the best yards per carry, and who is making something out of nothing with lots of broken tackles? Well here are the results.
YARDS PER CARRY
1. (Car) Williams - 7.8ypc (268yrd, 2td)
2. (Mia) Brown - 6.6ypc (258yrd, 1td)
3. (Jax) Jones-Drew - 6.6 (240yrd, 2td)
4. (Buf) Lynch - 6.5ypc (203yrd, 3td)
5. (Den) Moreno - 5.9ypc (373yrd, 4td)
6. (StL) Jackson - 5.5ypc (184yrd, 3td)
7. (Pit) Parker - 5.4ypc (258yrd, 3td)
8. (was) Portis - 5.2ypc (295yrd, 3td)
9. (NYG) Jacobs - 4.5ypc (178yrd, 2td)
10. (Det) Smith - 4.2ypc (161yrd, 2td)
~the others~
(Chi) Forte - 4.1ypc (233yrd, 3td)
(Ten) Johnson - 4ypc (180yrd, 2td)
(KC) Johnson - 3.9ypc (163yrd, 1td)
notes: So as you can see Dangelo Williams is causing havoc for defenders with a WHOPPING 7.8YPC, nobody is even close to that #, he also has the 3rd most rushing yards thus far this season, maybe the Panthers need to start thinking about running the ball more with the #'s that delhomme is putting up & this kid doing such big things.
BROKEN TACKLES[/u]
1. (Den) Moreno - 13
2. (Mia) Brown - 11
3. (Was) Portis - 10
4. (KC) Johnson - 9
5. (TB) Ward - 8
6. (Buf) Lynch - 8
7. (Atl) Turner - 8
8. (NE) Taylor - 8
9. (Phi) Wesbrook - 7
~the others~
(Det) Smith - 6
(Car) Williams - 6
(Hou) Slaton - 6
(StL) Jackson - 6
(Pit) Parker - 6
notes: This stat tells the story of exactly why rookie Knowshon Moreno is the top of the league in rushing yards & td's, he fights for every inch, and is breaking tackles left & right. Johnson shows there still allot of grit left in him, although he's not up there in ypc, he's earning every yard he's gotten with allot of broken tackles. Meanwhile Brown is really showing how much of an asset he is, 2nd in ypc, 2nd in broken tackles, he is my top rated HB performer, making the most out of every carry.
where is peterson on these lists? rated the top offensive player in the league going into this season, one has to wonder if picking up Favre has slowed the running attack of Mini, as they look for more yards through the air this season. Peterson doesn't meet our top 10 lists in any running back statistical category thus far this season
TUNE BACK IN SOON, as we continue to DIG DEEPER into the stats as the season continues, bringing you new stats each and every time!
