if ive read this correctly ea is going to start charging to play online if you dont own the game ( renting or buying the game used). if you buy the game new then your game comes with the code. this is lame...what if people cant afford to actually purchase the game....no online play unless you pay 10 bucks? totally lame www.pastapadre.com/2010/05/10/ea-sports-online-pass-online-play-free-only-with-code-in-new-copiesread up hopefully im reading this wrong Today EA Sports revealed the “Online Pass” that will be introduced first in Tiger Woods 11 and carry through to upcoming titles. Codes will be inserted into new copies of games providing access to online play for free. However those who purchase the game used or rent will be forced to pay $10 to buy the “Online Pass”. - EA thats the only thing i read..dont have time to read the whole story

Maybe the disk provides an online code. Which will prevent bootlegged games. That way once its activated that disk is tied to that account forever.

If they use the the money to improve some of the online issues then its all good. IE - It probably costs tons of money to constantly keep those servers running and keep them working properly...
Also, xbox360 has been charging for their internet for years, i think psn isn't too far behind, and i fully expect us to be paying $50 bucks a year sooner or later...

you got 2 codes with your madden this year, so basically if you rented the game and the codes were used, you had too pay 5 dollars to play online anyways, so its basically the same thing, and I never rent or buy used games, so i dont care.
