i made some suggestions to Main and he advised me to post it for the entire league to discuss and vote on for fairness
I have 3 suggestions for season 2. I really like the rules in this league but i thought of a few i would think could make them better. Now that is only my opinion and if you disagree then great, i can still live by these rules but i wanted to see if anyone agreed with me
-first i suggested that starting pitchers be assigned according to the schedule. We play our games out of order and even though we still follow our rotation if i play Snake for game 1 and using my SP1 but then i dont play him for another week it's possible by the time i get back to Snake i could be at my SP1 again...thats not fair so we should go in order of the schedule
-my second suggestions is about players resting...i like the rule but i was skimming through some managers games and honestly i see lots of players who have never been rested. Now it took me a while to do that and it was boring and i never took names so i wonder how difficult it must be for Main to enforce this rule. I suggest we remove it or find a way to make sure it is enforced cause i see a lot of people not following this rule
-finally about balls and strikes. If you are pitching and ahead in the count i believe you should be able to throw the pitch anywhere and it;s up to the batter to have a good eye BUT if you are pitching and behind the count (1-0, 3-2, etc) you must throw a strike. Now i know a lot of you are afraid of the strike zone and won't like this suggestion but it may benefit you as a batter...it's just a suggestion for EVERYONE in the league to review
thx guys

I agree with everything except for the last suggestion. Sometimes that is just baseball because I noticed that sometime when I pitch on the game, I attempt to hit corners of the plate (just like in real life) and I am not perfect at hitting that meter right on so it is hard to do that. The key to pitching is out thinking the hitter and I feel that you have to have a hitter's eye. Just my opinion but I just roll with the punches. But your other two points, I totally agree with. I definitely agree with the starting pitching rotation. I noticed in another league that they assign the starting pitchers on their games....
Example:
Game 1 - SP 1 Game 2 - SP 2 etc......

club, the rule will be enforced. i'll be checking though everybody tomorrow. the last day of the season. and people who havent followed the rules will be penalized in the playoffs if they make it. I don't put rules there just for the hell of it, they are there to be followed and there will be consequences for those who chose to ignore them
disagree with your opinion on the strikes
and as for your first opinion i'll put this to a vote in the offseason. I like how I was able to make my pitching rotation change this year based on pitcher play, but we'll see what the league thinks based on a vote in the offseason.

it really isnt even close to realistic if you cant throw balls and strikes. Like in real baseball its not like your telling the pitcher he must throw strikes. And also its your fault if you cant lay off a pitch. But other rules are good.

I like the first suggestion. Def. should assign rotation spots and just allow substitutions if injuries/demotions/promotions occur.
I dislike the second suggestion. I like the idea of resting all your players. I just have 2 more players I have to rest which I plan to do against the yanks in the season finale.
I dislike your third suggestions completely. Baseball is at least 50% mental and you cant have any kind of restrictions on when you MUST throw a strike. That is not baseball.

First suggestion: Agree completely. Pitchers should be assigned by schedule.
Second suggestion: I think the rule is too hard to enforce and doesn't really matter all that much in a short season.
Third suggestion: No one should EVER know when a ball or strike is coming. That's the art of hitting. Recognize ball or strike, and then swing.

Well here is my thoughts.
First suggestion - I love it, thats what I wanted at first, easier to understand things and keep track.
2nd suggetsion , main your already in trouble as the updates have killlllled the though of playing people on your bench. When they update and take off players, you lose that player and dont have him again and so on.
Third suggestion, I like the idea, just different ways to do it. I think you should allow for like 2 balls an at bat, i know sometimes you try to hit corners and don't, but this game isn't even CLOSE to realistic with pitching. NO pitcher in there right mind hits every corner pitch, the only problem, is this game doesnt throw it accross the middle of the zone, it throws it out of the zone. You can argue all you want, but you can never use the "realistic" idea to pitching and batting, cause its a video game, in real life you can see the rotation coming out of the pitchers hand, in this game, you cannot, so to judge a ball and strike that is close is damn near impossible, it becomes a guessing game, and baseball is DEFENTLy not a guessing game. Most people play with the philosphy throw balls balls and balls till they dont swing, then throw them on the corners, and thats the end. ALSO, i have noticed in about 99% of my games you get about 4 fast balls a game that are strikes, pitchers just don't throw them, and thats about as unrealistic stat as you could ever have. Fastballs are the primary pitch for EVERY single pitcher minus a knuckleball pitcher. They set up every pitch with a fastball, and they do throw it for strikes, lol. There are alot of things that are more of a "sportsmanship sim play" then anything else. I know you should be able to throw balls, but it doesn't work like that in the game as its not realistic as to how many balls people throw or corners.

it doesnt kill the thought of that. when a player is removed in the roster update, hes replaced by somebody else. its quite simple. you had to play 1 of those players whome werent your starters at least once over the year

but it ruins your thought process when they throw in another play that can only play somewhere, hurts when your trying to sub.

oh no! not your thought process. gimme a break. you get like 6 total player changes. all you need to know is sub out all your starters once within 8 games (for this season, will be more next year). And to play those backups, you'll know if you've played a backup that you just lost cause of roster update or not, and if you dont know, just look up your past games, use the scouting report sheet i've made, makes things simple. You have to track whos playing when, and make sure people are getting subbed out, it happens in real life, its gotta happen here. But like I said it'll be more games and more realistic next season
I will put this to a vote however since a couple seem to disagree and we'll see what majority says during playoffs/offseason
